Decolonizing Global Health

An ongoing interest of mine is decolonizing global health. This is succinctly described by Mishal Khan and colleagues (2021) as "a movement that fights against ingrained systems of dominance and power in the work to improve the health of populations, whether this occurs between countries (including between previously colonising and plundered nations) and within countries."

I am also co-founder of the University of Edinburgh Decolonising Global Health Working Group and co-host of a virtual conference with distinguished global speakers on Decolonising Global Health via Zoom in April 2020. Watch our conference on Youtube here. We also hosted a follow-up conversation with Dr. Renzo Guinto regarding "What does the decolonization of global health mean to you?", available here.
Please note: while I am NOT an expert on decolonisation, I do try to use decolonial praxis in my work.
